FAQs

How much do you charge?

Lessons are $40 per 20-30 minute session.

Each additional lesson and/or child receives a 10% discount, up to 30% total
1st lesson - $40
2nd lesson - $36
3rd lesson - $32
4 or more lessons - $28 each

When is your next enrollment period?

My enrollment is continuous based on class availability. Once a swimmers enrolls, they do not get dropped until the family requests it or the swimmer accomplishes all the skills we teach. We do have "sessions" for 3 months at a time however, these are for our benefit to provide natural breaks where we can adjust instructor schedules, complete quarterly administrative work and have some vacation time :)

What does my child need to bring?

A swimsuit and towel is all you will need. If your child is not yet potty trained, please also have a non-disposable swim diaper for them to wear.

We discourage the use of goggles for 2 reasons;
1. A child who can swim with goggles but not without, is not safe in the water. Most accidental falls into water occur when a child is not wearing goggles.
2. Goggles leak, always. Ask any swimmer. We are always needing to adjust goggles to keep them in place and a young swimmer will spend more time fussing with leaky goggles than practicing skills.

*If your child is used to wearing goggles, bring them along to your lesson. We will work to fade them out*

What if we have to cancel a lesson?

Not a problem! We completely understand needing to cancel for illness or family emergencies when they come up. Absences are eligible for make up lessons, scheduled through the parent portal.

If you cancel more than 3 times, you may be asked to select a different time or day.

How long will it take for my child to be able to swim?

This depends on many factors such as frequency of lessons, willingness of the swimmer, opportunities to practice and what the eventual goal is. Contact us today and we can discuss the programming for your swimmer.

What level is my child?

Since our lessons are all one on one, we do not have a level system. Once your child is ready to transition to a higher level of lessons at a different facility we can help to determine what level that may be.

My child is terrified of the water. How can they learn to swim?

With fun and consistency!

It's never fun for parents to see their children experiencing fear, but a fear of the water will only get worse as a child gets older. Swimming is beneficial not just for fitness but for recreation and friendships throughout life. Through steady, calm instruction, and some homework assignments during bath or shower time,  your child will learn to love the water too!

How many lessons should we sign up for?

This depends on your schedule and budget. Most people sign up for 1 or 2 lessons per week but just like any sport or activity, the more you can do it, the better!

What makes your lessons better than the group lessons elsewhere?

Group lessons are great! They give kids a chance to socialize and help give a little peer pressure (the good kind) to push themselves past their limits. But with 4 kids in a 30 minute lesson, each kid only gets about 7 minutes of direct time which leads to a lot of boredom.

Private lessons allow for targeted skill development and a personalized approach to help your child learn faster and maintain skills more effectively.

Private lessons are particularly helpful for a child who is fearful or unsure.
